Inspired by CRUX, Judd Vinet started the Arch Linux project in March 2002. ![]() In late 2007, Judd Vinet retired as an Arch Linux developer, but still actively participated as an Arch developer and then he transferred control to the American programmer Aaron Griffin, aka PhACTURE, who is still active as Arch development leader.
